Secret Sisters Ministry

for women 18 years and above. |
Secret Sisters is a ministry between you and another Sister in our church family. You become her silent prayer partner and her secret encourager for 6 months. She doesn’t know who you are, but she will know you are there, and praying for her and her needs.
Secret sisters is about encouraging, supporting, and edifying one another in prayer as well as with personal notes,cards and small gifts. It is my hope that during these months your prayer life will bring you into a deeper relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ as you lift your sister and her needs up. Each participant will need to read the Guidelines and Register by filling out a Personal Profile Sheet. This can be done here: Registration Form online or see Joyce Owens for a hardcopy. Please turn hard copies into Joyce Owens (program coordinator), or leave at the church office in an envelope marked ‘ATTENTION: Joyce Owens’. Each participant will be matched up with a Secret Sister and given a copy of her Personal Profile Sheet to give you some insight into her likings and most of all her prayer requests. All profiles should be completed and turned in by October 23, 2011.
1. Know that this is a commitment to lift up your Secret Sister in prayer daily for six months.
If you are unable to fulfill this commitment, please contact Joyce Owens (program coordinator) so that your Sister can be reassigned. Praying daily for her will strengthen you just as much as it will benefit her.
2. Encourage her.
Send cards, notes, etc., to her at least once a month (preferably more).
3. Remember your Secret Sister on her special occasions.
Mark specific dates on your calendar; include her birthday, anniversary, etc., as well as the holidays. If her birthday falls outside the program dates choose any one-day within the program as a ‘Faux Birthday’ to celebrate her.
4. Keep her a secret! Don't let her know who you are!
Then we'll have a FUN Secret Sister Reveal Party! Here you will bring her one very special card and a gift with a maximum value of 10 dollars.
5. Any new women who join our church during this 6 month period are welcome to become a participant.

SUGGESTIONS
A. Ideas for encouragement: ANYTHING FROM THE HEART!
Cards, thoughtful notes, poems, bookmarks, a journal or maybe her favorite candy bar or snack can be a delightful surprise. Review her questionnaire to get an ideas, and remember to keep gifts small.
B. How to get things to her (secretly):
You can send cards through the mail. (TIP: You may want to disguise your handwriting.) To insure anonymity use for a return address:

You can also bring cards or gifts to the church and leave them in the Secret Sister Basket that will be in foyer of the Church on designated Sunday’s throughout the 6 months. (TIP: To insure secrecy have someone else make the drop for you.)
FOR THE SISTER WHO DOESN’T KNOW WHO IS PRAYING FOR HER
As your needs for prayer change or when you wish to leave your praying Sister a ‘thank-you’ card or a ‘praise report’ note, there will be a Secret Sisters mailbox where you can leave cards and messages. This box will be located in the Church Foyer on designated Sunday’s each month. For these notes and cards simply address them FROM: <First and Last name. >
These cards will be forwarded to your Sister who is praying for you.
Ladies, please look at this as an opportunity to strengthen and grow the prayer lives and fellowship of our church’s sisterhood.
Thank you for choosing to participate in this important, uplifting, and fun ministry! I will send an occasional email reminding you to remember your Sister.
